Welcome to the Movement Therapy Group registration page!
This group is designed to be a space where members can tap into their emotions and express them through movement. The group will adapt sessions based on the needs of group members, but common topics may include: change, self-esteem, big and little feelings.
This is a Movement group with a focus on moving the body with intention facilitated by Miguel Alcantara, Resident in Counseling. While studying psychology, Miguel also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance and has toured the world to dance professionally which brought him to countries like France, Germany, Belgium, India, Italy, and South Africa.
This will be an ongoing group that runs in 8-week cycles on Saturdays.
There will be two groups. One group for 8-10 year olds at 9:00 am. The second group will follow and will be for 11-13 year olds at 10am.
**Our next group session starts on Saturday, October 7th, 2023**
Please note - There will not be a group session on October 21st.

Miguel is a queer Latino and Resident in Counseling for the Wise Family. Miguel is a New England native, originally from Providence, RI where he attended Rhode Island College and received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Dance performance. He recently finished his Masters of Arts at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (Washington D.C campus) and is currently in their Doctoral program studying Clinical Psychology. He resides in Maryland with his husband and puppy. In his previous life, he was a professional dancer touring the globe when he decided to focus on his other love, counseling!
