Allyson is a Resident in Counseling for The Wise Family! She is currently a School Counselor in Northern Virginia, where she works with children ages 3-13. She has over a decade’s worth of experience working with young children and adolescents in various arenas.

Allyson earned her B.S. in Sociology and B.A. in Music, Theatre, and Film from Saint Joseph’s University (Go Hawks!). She continued her graduate studies at Seton Hall University, where she earned her M.A. in School Counseling. Allyson currently integrates a child-centered approach, alongside a cognitive-behavioral approach when working with clients and their parents. She also incorporates music and other creative arts strategies to help children express their thoughts and feelings in a therapeutic environment. She hopes to become a registered play therapist.

In her free time, Allyson can be found at the ice rink figure skating, reading a book, or taking “Gidget” (her very energetic Golden Retriever) for a walk. She also enjoys going to concerts, sailing, and playing tennis. A fun fact to know – Allyson has been sailing for over 12 years! She looks forward to meeting you and your child in the office.
